Scratch Resistance

Advantages: Soft-rubber material offers excellent flexibility and elasticity. When scratched by external objects, the soft rubber material deforms to cushion the impact, minimizing scratches and less likely to damage the vehicle's paint. For example, if a stone kicked up by the tire strikes a soft-rubber fender while driving, the rubber will dent and deform, dissipating the impact force and reducing the risk of scratches on the fender and vehicle body.

Disadvantages: Soft-rubber fenders can be punctured or deeply scratched by sharp objects. However, their flexibility compared to hard plastic can mitigate such damage to a certain extent.

Frost Resistance

Advantages: High-quality soft-rubber material generally offers good low-temperature resistance and will not easily harden or crack in cold winter weather. Some soft-rubber fenders even incorporate an antifreeze formula, allowing them to maintain excellent elasticity and flexibility in temperatures of -10°C or even lower. For example, soft-rubber fenders can function normally in northern winters, while hard plastic fenders may become brittle and prone to breakage due to low temperatures.
Disadvantages: If a soft-rubber fender is of poor quality or is used for extended periods in extremely cold conditions, its frost resistance may be affected, resulting in hardening and a loss of elasticity. However, overall, its frost resistance is superior to that of hard plastic fenders.
Durability
Advantages: Soft-rubber fenders are relatively resistant to aging and are less susceptible to rapid aging due to prolonged exposure to the sun, rain, or alternating heat and cold. Under normal use, they can last for over 3 to 5 years. Furthermore, soft-rubber fenders are able to recover from certain external impacts and are less susceptible to damage, which also helps extend their service life.
Disadvantages: If a soft-rubber fender is frequently subjected to strong external forces or is exposed to harsh road conditions and environments for extended periods, it may wear and deform. Furthermore, improper installation, which results in uneven load distribution, may also affect its durability. However, compared with hard plastic fenders that are prone to breakage at low temperatures and easily shattered by impact, soft rubber fenders still have certain advantages in durability.
